Chinatown
Chinatown is a body of work reflecting the nightlife in Chinatown from my perspective. The night life in Chinatown is addictive it is colourful and complex. All the photo works are shot at night which is the busiest time in Chinatown. On the other hand, all the photos in my body of work are original photos without doing any editing. I was trying to express my personal emotions in Chinatown through this body of work. The lights in Chinatown is a symbol. When you take a walk at Chinatown you will see everything is in red. Therefore, in my body of work I capture the form of those interesting lighting in Chinatown and use it to express myself. The unpredictable lights in my works is a medium to deliver myself to the audience. The light and the colours are twisted and crossed together they presented by my own way. Through my work, you can feel a sense of mystery and fantasy. The final body of work are selected cautiously from around 200 photos. The sequence of my work is also made on purpose. By looking at the sequence of my works you will enter a journey of fantasy. My purpose is to let the audience get lost in my journey and see things from my perspective.
